ROBERT A. BEHREN, CPA, Attorney,
B.B.A, M.B.A, J.D. (first in class, N.Y.U), LL.M (N.Y.U.), recipient
of numerous scholarships, fellowships and awards, is both a CPA
and an attorney (listed in Martindale-Hubbell, the official directory
of attorneys, as having earned the highest ratings it confers: "A"
Very High to Preeminent). He was a Professor (Department
of Economics) at a major University for over 15 years. He has authored
or edited over 2,000 published articles on financial management,
some of which have been cited, as authority for their decisions,
by the highest courts in the country (including the U.S. Supreme
Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Tax Court). He has
founded and published leading financial magazines (including The
Practical Accountant) and newsletters (including Clients Monthly
Alert) for over 20 years (and has received a Presidential Commendation
for Publishing from Ronald Reagan). He is a former U.S. Air Force
fighter pilot (Major, Ret.).
ALLAN BORESS, CPA, CFE, was recently named one of the Top 100 People
in the Accounting Profession. His new book, "Mastering the
Art of Marketing Professional Services: A Best Practice Step-by-step
Guide," was recently published by the AICPA. He is also the
author of the "I-Hate-Selling" Course, which describes
in a systematic format how to sell professional services (www.ihateselling.com).
He has trained tens of thousands of accountants in the last 20 years
in the arts of systematic selling, personal marketing and client
retention.
SHELDON COHEN, B.A. in accounting (with special honors), J.D. (with highestl honors, first in class), George Washington University, is former Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service and counsel to the law firm of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius in the Washington, D.C., office. He is listed in Euromoney's guide as one of the world's leading tax lawyers, has assisted the U.N. on special missions to create tax systems for developing countries, and is the author of. numerous tax articles. He is a past recipient of the Arthur S. Fleming Award (as one of the outstanding young men in government), the Alexander Hamilton Award (the highest honor given by the U.S. Treasury Department), and the Alumni Achievement Award for George Washington University.
MARY L. C. FLOOD, CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), CFP (Certified Financial Planner), MBA (Finance), is Managing Director of Inverness Counsel, Inc., an investment advisory firm. She has been a delegate to the White House Small Business Conference and Chair of the White House Conference Capital Formation Implementation. She is treasurer of the National Association of Women Business Owners. She writes a monthly finance column for Utah Business magazine and has been featured in a number of media interviews and articles in major publications such as Kiplingers Personal Finance Magazine.
ROBERT L. ISRAELOFF, CPA, MBA, AEP (Accredited Estate Planner), B.S. (Wharton), MBA (Taxation, Baruch College), is past Chairman of the Board of the American Institute of CPAs, past President of the New York State Society of CPAs, and an active member of a number of professional organizations. He is the founder and Officer of Israeloff, Trattner & Co., CPAs, P.C., and has served as a noted speaker and author of numerous articles on professional issues. He was awarded the AICPA Gold Medal for Distinguished Service, the CPA profession's highest honor, and selected by Accounting Today as one of the 100 most influential CPAs in the United States. He is an approved NYS Supreme Court Mediator and Advisory Board Member of the C.W. Post and Hofstra University Accounting Schools.
SIDNEY KESS, CPA, Attorney, B.B.A., J.D. (Harvard), LL.M. (NYU), is former National Director of Taxes at KMG Main Hurdman and former partnerat KPMG Peat Marwick. Probably the best-known CPE lecturer, he has lectured to more than 600,000 practitioners and lay persons on tax, financial and estate planning. He has authored or co-authored more than a dozen major books (including 32 editions each of the AICPA's Individual and Corporate Tax Workshops), edited 4 major Newsletters, and authored hundreds of video and audio courses.
DIAHANN W. LASSUS, CPA, CFP (Certified Financial Planner), MBA,
BS (Management), is a co-owner of Lassus Wherley & Associates,
PC. Her service with the Institute of Certified Financial Planners
includes service on the Board of Governors of the Board of Standards,
past National Board Member, and past Chair of the Certification
Committee. She was appointed by President Clinton to the Retirement
Savings Summit in Washington, D.C., and by NJ Governor Whitman to
the New Sources of Capital Board. She was a delegate to the White
House Conference on Small Business and chaired the NJ Capital Formation
Committee. She was President of the National Association of Women
Business Owners and the NJ Association of Women Business Owners
(and has received numerous awards for this service), a member of
the Board of Directors of the National Foundation for Women Business
Owners, and a Director of the NJ State Chamber of Commerce. She
has taught at several colleges. She was selected as one of "Americas
Top 200 Financial Advisors" by Worth magazine.
HARRY M. MARKOWITZ, Ph.D., is
winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics for the development of "portfolio
theory." Portfolio theory determines portfolios combinations
of assets which minimize risk on the portfolio as a whole
for various levels of expected (or likely) return on the portfolio,
taking into consideration the extent to which the returns on assets
rise and fall together. His analysis of the tradeoff between portfolio
risk and return has become standard. Much of modern financial theory,
such as Nobel Prize winner William Sharpes Capital Asset Pricing
Model, is based on Markowitz portfolio theory.
JAY N. NISBERG, Ph.D., founder and President of the Accountants
Financial Services Group, is an internationally known consultant
to the accounting profession, concentrating on practice management
and business development, for nearly 20 years. He has been a discussion
leader and professional development coordinator for the American
Institute of CPAs and a lecturer at many accounting societies and
universities. He is the author of two nationally known business
reference books published by Random House and has been a consultant
to numerous major corporations, including General Motors, RCA and
the White House. He is frequently quoted as an expert on accounting
issues in such newspapers as The Wall Street Journal, Accounting
Today, and Public Accounting Report and has been noted as one of
the 100 Most Influential People in the Accounting Profession for

SHIRLEY D. PETERSON, A.B. (Bryn Mawr, cum laude), J.D. (NYU, Honor Scholar), is a former Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service and Assistant Attorney General in charge of the Tax Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. Recently retired as President of Hood College, she had practiced law for over 20 years at Steptoe & Johnson in Washington D.C. She was active in the Tax Section of the American Bar Association, serving on its Council and as Chair of the Estate and Gift Tax Committee. She was a Regent of the American College of Tax Counsel and the American College of Trust and Estate Council as well as a member of the Board of Trustees of the American Tax & Policy Institute. A long-time champion of tax simplification, she was appointed by then Senator Dole to serve on the National Commission on Economic Growth and Tax Reform. She is a Trustee of the Kemper Mutual Funds, a Director of the Bethlehem Steel Corporation, a Director of the National Legal Center for the Public Interest, and a Trustee of Bryn Mawr College.
JEROME J. SHESTACK, A.B. (University of Pennsylvania), LL.B. (Harvard). He is past President of the American Bar Association and past chairman of ALI-ABA. He served on the Board of Editors of the ABA Journal and the ABA Board of Governors, and is a member of the ABA House of Delegates. He chairs the Litigation Department of Wolf, Block, Schorr and Solis-Cohen in Philadelphia and is regularly listed in Best Lawyers in America and in the National Law Journal's 100 Most Influential Lawyers. He is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He is former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Commission on Human Rights and is on the Executive Committee on the International Commission of Jurists and the American Society of International Law. He has been a professor or lecturer at numerous law schools, including Pennsylvania, Harvard, Yale, Columbia, N.Y.U., Oxford, Northwestern, and L.S.U.
